Building with Tailwind CSS
Tailwind CSS is strongest at consistency by construction and no dead CSS accumulating over years. We reach for it when that is the property a workload actually depends on, and we say so when it is not.
The benefit compounds with codebase age. Conventional CSS accumulates dead rules nobody dares delete; utility classes live and die with the markup they are attached to, so a three-year-old Tailwind codebase is usually in better shape than a three-year-old stylesheet.
The cost is readability at first contact. Dense class strings take a week to become comfortable, and teams that abandon it usually do so in that first week rather than later.
